Our ever-popular Brocante boys Gary and Ramon, who offer a wonderful eclectic range of wares at the Wanstead Vintage Fashion & Brocante Fair are offering a fabulous Brocante Road Trip in April 2014.
The Itinerary for the four day road trip is:
Day 1 – Two pick-up points (Aylesbury and London) where you will meet your fellow road trip companions. Travel by luxury coach to Dover for the ferry to Calais. Travel to Brussels with overnight stay at the Best Western Hotel.
Day 2 – Up with the crows for an early breakfast and then off to a very unusual Brussels market (the likes of which you may never have seen!) Then it’s off to the centre of Brussels to window shop (yeah right) the myriad of antique shops. After lunch it’s time to head to France with some unique stops on the way – Gary and Ramon will share their secret places where they source their unique items. After arriving in Lens, time for a quick freshen up in your room (Novotel) before a three course meal, with wine.
Day 3 – Early breakfast before making your way to Amiens, once again with some delightful stops on the way for a bit of brocante shopping. On arrival in Amiens, Gary and Ramon will give you a quick guided tour so you can get your bearings and then you have free time to shop, have a leisurely lunch or admire the sights. In the afternoon you’ll meet at the spectacular Amiens Cathedral, (the largest and tallest in France) built between 1220 and 1270 and listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. Back to the hotel for a three course dinner and drink and much needed rest before the early start tomorrow.
Day 4 – 4.00am wake-up call and on the coach by 4.30am to set off to the Grand Rederie Market of Amiens. Torches on, you will be amazed at the sights of dealers from all over the world furiously bartering and it wont be long before you will be joining in and experiencing one of the most bustling street markets ever. After hours of shopping the coach will leave for the trip back to Aylesbury/London. Arriving around 9-10pm with lots of treasures, great memories and very tired feet!
The price is an amazing 329 pounds (plus 85 pounds for a single supplement) if you book before 31st January 2014 and 379 pounds if you book after 31st January and includes:-
All coach travel and ferry crossings
All 3* accommodation with wine and nibbles on Thursday evening; Friday breakfast and three course evening meal with a glass of wine; Saturday breakfast and evening meal with wine
